Catherine Starr is an Elder and High Priestess in several Wiccan Traditions, including a Third Degree Gardnerian High Priestess and a NROOGD Red Cord and Elder. Her coven has been a members of the Covenant of the Goddess since 1992. Since joining CoG, Catherine has held many officer positions, including First Officer on the National Board and First Officer for the Northern California Local Council. She has been the National Archivist for many years and worked with Alison Harlow in presenting CoG at many festivals. In 1999, she was one of the official CoG representatives to the Parliament of World Religions in Cape Town South Africa. At that conference, she did a presentation with on "What is Wicca" and was interviewed by several local newspapers on Wicca. Currently, she is the Canadian contact for the National Board for CoG. Catherine is also a founding member of Magical Acts Ritual Theater in Oakland, California. Her ritual play, "Oracles from the Living Tarot," has been performed at several venues on the West Coast since its inception in 1997. She is currently working on a book documenting the process of creating this ritual piece as well as developing a workshop based on this work. She holds an undergraduate degree in Psychology, a Masters Degree in Library Science and has done work towards a Ph.D in Women s Spirituality. Lecture The Covenant of the Goddess officially recognized as a religious, non-profit organization by the state of California on October 31, 1975. It is one largest organizations for Witches and Wiccans, with local chapters throughout the US and members in the US and Canada. CoG also very active in the Interfaith Community. In this presentation, Catherine Starr, former National First Officer of CoG, will talk about the history of the organization, how the organization is structured, and the current role CoG is playing in the Interfaith Community. |
